In cooperation with the Scott staff and parents, students as conflict managers enhance a school atmosphere more suited to improve students’ behavior and academic achievement.

The goals of this program include:

n  To decrease tension and conflict in the school

n  To enable students to build a stronger sense of cooperation and community in school

n  To teach students communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills

n  To have more fun at school

Peer Mediators are selected by teachers and are trained in communication and the process of negotiating disagreements.  Their job is to help students get along with each other.

n  Will stick with the program for the entire year
